About Sharleen

Meet Sharleen Garcia

Health has never been just a career for me it's been a lifelong pursuit of understanding people, cultures, and what truly helps us thrive.

My Journey

In the last decade my studies, research, and life has taken me to nearly 40 countries, where I’ve experienced different foods, healthcare systems, and ways of living. I have learned that while every culture approaches wellness differently, the healthiest people often share something in common. They value community, whole foods, local indigenous knowledge, movement, and find purpose in all seasons of life.

Travel changed the way I think about healthcare. It inspired me to ask bigger questions. Why do some people thrived despite limited resources? Why do chronic diseases continue to rise in developed countries? How do nutrition, stress, culture, environment, and lifestyle all influence our health? Those questions in addition to my own personal journey with chronic diagnoses eventually led me to study functional nutrition, psychoneuroimmunology, and the fascinating relationship between the brain, gut, immune system, nervous system, and human behavior.

BA Sociology, Health & Society – Wellesley College
CFNC (Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor) – Functional Nutrition Alliance
MA Clinical Psychoneuroimmunology  – Regenera Health

From my own personal experience, I know how frustrating it is to live in a body that’s fatigued and in pain. I also know that your symptoms aren’t just something to manage: they’re signals from your body, asking for attention.

My education has given me the scientific foundation to understand the complex relationship between neuroscience, immunity, nutrition and lifestyle medicine.

Together, they allow me to bridge research and everyday life, to make science more prevalent, relevant, and understandable to you.
